About Me

Jerry is known throughout the Pacific Northwest and Northern California for his smokin’ electric slide guitarwork, his masterful finger-picking Delta blues, and his tasteful slide and solo work on his homemade cigar box guitars. His music is always foot-stompin’, danceable, and authentic — combining traditional blues with a contemporary energy.
( Eugene Register Guard )

It was the 70s when Robert Cray and Curtis Salgado emerged as kings of the newly revitalized blues scene in Eugene. Animal House brought John Belushi to the area — a visit that later inspired the Blues Brothers. And Jerry Zybach, already heavily into playing music since his teens, heard his first blues on a Portland radio station. He was hooked. Over the years, he and his guitar followed it to Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, and beyond, but always came back to play in the Eugene area where he was born and raised.

In fact, it’s these deep local roots that keep him committed and involved in such community causes as Habitat for Humanity, Project Homeless Connect for Lane County, Musicians Emergency Medical Association, Friday Morning Blues D.J. on KRVM 91.9 FM, and a presenter of Blues in the Schools. Jerry is also a founding member of the Rainy Day Blues Society, contributing the name, as well as his creativity and energy, in the name of preserving and promoting local blues.
